The desperate need for a boy, the extreme extents of abortions along with the fines and the snobby “Little Emperor/esses”
I could never imagine having to decide to kill an unborn baby because of overpopulation. I think that there may be some couples that never did have a baby that could adopt the child from the family that has met the boy quota. I find it very unnerving that the brother of the man went as far as showing up to the clinic and forcing his sister-in -aw to have an abortion. In some twisted way, he did help his brother out because he knew that his brother would lose his job and have to pay the steep fine if anyone found out about the baby. People would find out about a child; you can’t really keep one a secret for any length of time.
The idea of the Little Emperor/esses seems to be a common trend in America also. Some of the people that I know back home and have met now can fall into this category of snobby, rich, and spoiled individuals. It seems to me that there are many, many more children that have the same amount, or more of technology and expensive material things than I could have ever imagined possessing when I was their age. Now kids complain about any little thing and quit on what they believe to be too difficult. It seems that their attributes will slow down the advancement of brute force and labor intensive jobs, because these are the people that “don’t want to do hard work, but do smarter work.”
I’ve always thought that there should be almost like an birthing plan law in effect in the U.S. Where I come from, there are way to many teenage parents that come from low income families. People can just see their lives getting worse, as they already come from a back living and now add a child that they have to care for growing up in the same circumstance.
